This Privacy Policy describes how AMUD AI LLC (“amud,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use amud.ai and related services (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: email address, password (stored in hashed form), and any profile information you provide
  • Payment information: processed by our third-party payment processor Stripe; we do not store full payment card details
  • Communications: messages you send to us through support channels
  • Content you submit: questions, prompts, and other text you input when interacting with the AI chavrusa

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Operational logs: requests made to the Service, sessions started, and similar server-side records
  • Device and technical information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate location based on IP
  • Cookies: as described in Section 7

Information from Third Parties

  • Payment confirmation data from Stripe
  • AI processing metadata from Anthropic (our AI provider)

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing, maintaining, and improving the Service
  • Processing transactions and managing your account
  • Operating the AI chavrusa, including sending your inputs to our AI provider for processing
  • Reviewing logs and content for quality assurance, debugging, abuse prevention, and product improvement
  • Communicating with you about your account, Service updates, and (with your consent) marketing
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Complying with legal obligations

You acknowledge that we may review the content of your interactions with the Service for the operational purposes described above. We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Information

We share information with the following categories of recipients:

Service Providers

  • Anthropic (AI processing): Your inputs to the AI chavrusa are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate responses. Anthropic’s data handling is governed by their own terms.
  • Stripe (payments): Payment information is processed by Stripe under their terms.
  • Railway (hosting): Our infrastructure provider stores Service data.
  • Resend (email delivery): Transactional emails such as verification and account notices are delivered through Resend.
  • Other service providers as needed for similar operational functions.

Legal Requirements

We may share information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers

If amud is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we retain data for up to 90 days in backups before permanent deletion, except where longer retention is required by law (e.g., payment records, tax records).

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Portability: Request your information in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Opt-out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Restriction or objection: Restrict or object to certain processing

Deleting your account: You may delete your account at any time from your account settings within the Service, or by emailing support@amud.ai from the email address associated with your account. Deletion is permanent and includes cancellation of any active subscription.

California Residents: Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have additional rights regarding your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise California-specific rights, contact us at the email above.

EU/UK Residents: Under GDPR, we process your data under the following lawful bases: (a) contract performance for account services, (b) legitimate interests for product improvement and security, (c) consent for marketing communications, and (d) legal obligation where required. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing varies by purpose; contact us for specifics.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including hashing of passwords and secure transmission of data. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them will prevent you from staying signed in.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us at support@amud.ai.

9. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure is located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. For EU/UK users, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers where required.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Review their privacy policies before providing them with information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service and updating the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
